David presently serves as the University Treasurer for Brigham Young University with responsibility for the endowment and operational investment activities, campus cash flow management, payment processing, merchant services and cashiering functions, including all banking relationships. Prior to joining BYU, David had over 30 years of experience in the automotive financial services industry, most recently as Senior VP Financial Services for American Honda Finance Corporation in Torrance, California, where he was responsible for all the national operations and sales financing business of Honda Financial Services and Acura Financial Services. He began his career at Chrysler Corporation in Detroit, Michigan in the Management Development Program of the Corporate Finance Group and Chrysler Financial Corporation. David was then given the opportunity to help create a new captive finance company, BMW Financial Services, for BMW of North America headquartered in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey to support the U.S. market. He also was the founder of BMW Bank of North America, a FDIC-insured Industrial Loan Corporation in Salt Lake City, Utah. David also led the business development activities at Toyota Financial Services to create a FDIC-insured Nevada Thrift Company, Toyota Financial Savings Bank, as well as leading the efforts for DaimlerChrysler Financial Services to develop and create an Industrial Loan Bank. David graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and later received his MBA with emphasis on Finance and Investments from the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University. He enjoys spending time with his wife Marci Harding Paul and their five children and two grandchildren at their family home in Midway, Utah.
