Jonathan Sandberg

Jonathan Sandberg, Ph.D., joined the faculty in the School of Family Life at Brigham Young University in the fall of 2008. Prior to coming to BYU he completed his doctoral work in Marriage and Family Therapy at Kansas State University in 1998 and joined the faculty at Syracuse University that same year. He worked at SU in the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy for 10 years before coming to BYU. His research interests focus on the relationship between emotional/physical health problems and marital dynamics, particularly attachment security. In addition, Dr. Sandberg has published numerous articles relating to the experiences of racial and ethnic minorities individuals, couples, and families and their experiences in therapy and mental health in general. He has also worked with families, couples and individuals as a family therapist for nearly 30 years. Most importantly, Jonathan has the unique honor and privilege of being married to Sharon Jannelli Sandberg, his best friend and sweetheart, and they are so grateful for their 4 wonderful and vibrant children, their wonderful spouses, and one adorable grandson.
