Since starting at BYU in 1990, Kris Nelson has held many positions on campus and has been in the Academic Vice President’s office for seven years where she is currently the academic financial controller. She also assists administrators with various campus-wide initiatives including inspiring learning and resource planning and is serving as the chair of university commencement committee. She cherishes the opportunities that she has to interact with so many on campus and firmly believes in the mission and aims of BYU.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and an MBA, both from BYU. She and her husband live in Lindon, Utah and they both enjoy traveling and reading historical fiction. They have three sons and six grandchildren, that she loves to spoil.
