Sherry Cowen has worked in Academic Services with Continuing Education for the past 5 years. She recently became the Assistant Director of Instructional Design. She loves utilizing people’s strengths to help unite teams and create quality learning experiences. Prior to working at BYU, Sherry was a consultant for the State of California’s migrant education program. Sherry received a Bachelor’s in Spanish Teaching and Special Education from BYU, a Master’s of Educational Administration from California State University Bakersfield, and a PhD in Marriage, Family, and Human Development from BYU. She lives in Heber with her husband, and her 3 young adult children are pursuing college degrees and careers. Her daughter recently got her hooked on Brandon Sanderson books. She enjoys hiking new trails, kayaking the nearby lakes, traveling to South America and spending time with her family.
