Tony Brown completed a BA in Russian at Southern Methodist University followed by advanced degrees in Russian and Second Language Acquisition at Bryn Mawr College.
Since coming to BYU in 2004, he has taught courses in Russian language and cultural history and published in the areas of language policy, Russian culture, and Second Language Acquisition. In addition, he directs international internship programs throughout Europe.
